How Older Workers Can Recover From Job Loss
How Older Workers Can Recover from Job Loss I lately read an article about the employment prospects for those of us over 50, it gave some startling statistics that we all intuitively know as true. Once an older worker loses a job, it takes them longer than younger job seekers to discover a new one. On average, 25- to 44-yr-olds land a new job in just over 5 months, nevertheless it takes two to 5 months longer for older workers, relying on their age, reports the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ageism is a actuality for older job seekers. Try to work around the stereotypes of older workers, no one cares that you justâre 60. Itâs not the age. Itâs what it represents. Employers often assume older staff have low vitality and are inflexible, uncomfortable with know-how and simply biding their time until retirement. Dont Let The Money Fool You!
Phil's Careers Blog Donât Let The Money Fool You! By Phil Gerard First printed in Canadian Fundraising and Philanthropy. Read the full article right here: /articles/Don-t-let-the-cash-idiot-you Pay is seldom among the high 5 reasons fundraisers give when requested what motivates them of their job and what makes them stay. In worker surveys I have seen such high motivators as interesting and challenging work, good advancement opportunities, and a great working surroundings. Nevertheless, managers mustn't make the mistake of ignoring the wage issue. Money is still an important foundation. Employees should feel that they are compensated pretty relative to their obligations and performance. Compensation within the fundraising profession and even inside sectors varies. For instance, the well being and education sectors are competitive in salaries. That usually pressures other sectors and organizations to comply with swimsuit. Organizations need to remain on the pulse of compensation and conduct common wage reviews. We don't wish to disco ver out the exhausting way when people start leaving. But to these colleagues who think about accepting a brand new job provide â" beware! Sometimes the offer seems higher than it really is! It is crucial to have a look at the whole bundle if youâre contemplating leaving a job for a greater salary elsewhere. Monetary compensation is only one part of the package. Your current employer may have decrease salaries however offer advantages that outrank the other supply. Consider these 5 points when making your decision. Pensions Many organizations don't have a pension plan or at greatest contribute a small share to an RRSP. Other organizations have defined benefit or defined contribution plans. The latter is turning into extra frequent now, whereas the previous is extra enticing for employees as a result of at retirement a hard and fast monthly earnings is assured for life. Some organizations ask their employees to contribute and match or double their contribution, while other organiz ations contribute a hundred%. That can make a big difference on your paycheck. Organization-particular perks Many organizations have their own distinctive monetary advantages. Universities and personal faculties typically provide tuition waivers to faculty, staff, and their dependents. If you could have children of university age, and even better, several youngsters going to university at the identical time, a tuition waiver can mean massive savings for your family. Think about what special perks you might be at present having fun with at your organization and that solely your group can offer (gym membership, daycare, well being spending account, paid Internet, pc, iPad, professional growth) and how essential these benefits are for your backside line. Extended health Some advantages are less clearly advertised or perhaps buried in a coverage handbook with an prolonged health plan supplier. Depending on the needs of a selected employee or her household, these benefits can translate i nto large financial savings. I even have heard from colleagues who defined how their plan covers a number of hundreds of dollars a 12 months in companies for their family member with particular needs. It is worth it exploring the nice print. You may depend on such advantages and uncover later that your new employerâs plan doesn't cowl these services or solely a fraction of it. Vacation The new job would pay $5,000 extra a year however your vacation is down from five weeks to 2. Some organizations may be much less aggressive in salary however their workers enjoy further-lengthy holidays. The financial worth of the vacation time plus the savings in time and bills that working requires shouldn't be ignored. And then in fact there's a whole different level to contemplate â" your life-style and wellbeing. The âsignature expertiseâ Again, we have to look at the whole package. In addition to the advantages there are issues that cannot be quantified in dollars, like flexibility. Mayb e your group enables you to work a day every week from home (or all the time), or have a flexible schedule to accommodate your commute, day care or family situation. A great article by Tamara J. Erickson and Lynda Gratton known as âWhat it Means to Work Hereâ printed in the Harvard Business Review discussed what not only makes people keep in a job and in a company but also helps them turn into an engaged employee. The authors introduce the time period âsignature expertiseâ â" what units the organization aside for you as an worker. The article discusses the instance of JetBlue Airlines. Competitive compensation was definitely not a strategy the group could afford. Bigger airways could easily trump what JetBlue could provide. Instead, JetBlue carried out a home-primarily based ticket agent system to supply their employees flexibility, work-life steadiness and comfort. Professionals who chose Jet Blue as an employer have been looking for this signature experience. For these st aff it is doubtless that more than a cash incentive can be wanted to recruit them to another airline. So at the time of your subsequent job supply, take a number of moments to contemplate the whole bundle, including the signature experience you now get pleasure from. It isn't just about how much we make and how much we take residence however how happy we are doing it. What is the best way to manage your emotions
What is the most ideal approach to deal with your feelings What is the most ideal approach to deal with your feelings Feelings are a principal part of who we are.As long as we have a cerebrum, we will encounter differing sorts of feelings. We need to appreciate them, however we additionally experience the ill effects of them. We attempt to vanquish our feelings at the same time, the greater part of the occasions, we end being their slaves.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more!As Oscar Wilde stated, I would prefer not to be helpless before my feelings. I need to utilize them, to appreciate them, and to overwhelm them. Some individuals accept complete honesty will bring us harmony - in the event that we discharge every one of our feelings, we'll be fine. Others imagine that concealment is the best approach. In the event that we don't leave space for them, feelings can't overcome us.That's the issue with feelings: the more we attempt to control them, the more we neglect to oversee them effectively.Rel easing every one of your feelings can reverse discharge - it makes an input circle that amplifies, instead of reduces, negative feelings. Suppressing your feelings compound the situation - in the long run, you'll blow up.Should I Stay or Should I Go?When your feelings gain out of power, do you flee from them? Or on the other hand face them?Emotions are a sign. Keeping away from them implies disregarding a significant message from our mind. Nonetheless, possessing your feelings doesn't mean permitting them to run free - letting off a little steam won't keep you from blowing up.To comprehend this phenomenon, researchers studied the effect of controlling feelings. Members needed to compose a paper on a touchy subject and were let one know of their companions would assess it. The input was really composed by the clinicians - everybody was told their paper was one of the most exceedingly awful I've ever read.Of course, all members felt disillusioned and upset.Half of the individuals were then approached to hit a punching pack for two minutes to discharge their outrage. Subsequent to rehearsing different exercises that included passionate administration, the individuals who punched the punching sack were in reality more forceful than the individuals who didn't.Destructive feelings feed increasingly dangerous feelings, as I wrote here.We accept that we will feel less forceful in the event that we get an opportunity to release some pressure. In all actuality we end making an association among outrage and hostility - we let our feelings decide the way we act.Emotional concealment, then again, can hurt our psychological and physical wellbeing.A study asked individuals to watch and afterward talk about a World War II narrative about the explosion of two atomic weapons over the Japanese urban areas of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After viewing the narrative, a few members were approached to cover their feelings. Contrasted with the individuals who didn't, the ones who smothered their feelings experienced spikes in pulse and interruption. Likewise, individuals felt less affinity and less inspiration toward the individuals who restrained their emotions. This study is one of many indicating that by, veiling our inward sentiments, we can't fix our negative dispositions. Stifling our feelings both harms our memory and builds stress.Emotional guideline doesn't mean controlling how we feel - it's not letting our feelings characterize our behavior.Emotional Regulation Is a Cultural ThingHuman conduct streams from three principle sources: want, feelings, and information. - PlatoCulture shapes how we direct our feelings - it's implanted in how our folks raised us.A study by Silje Marie Haga shows that Americans esteem communicating their constructive feelings ostensibly however have a propensity to suppress their antagonistic ones. The social estimations of individual pride and achievement advance indicating just the brilliant side. Moreover, there's an away from or detachment between the results of stifling one's emotions.Research by Yuri Miyamoto suggests that social contrasts assume a key job by they way we direct our feelings. Guardians train their kids to do as such as indicated by their particular social norms. For model, American moms need their kids to be effective while Chinese moms organize discipline. An test about test execution among youngsters demonstrated that American moms center around giving positive criticism to their children - You are so shrewd!. Chinese moms, then again, give criticism on subjective angles - Did you comprehend the inquiries? Or then again did you surmise the answers? Some societies upregulate feelings; others downregulate. Many Asian societies stress fitting in - the feelings we show ought to advance amicable association with others.American culture, interestingly, advances people to feel exceptional - it energizes freedom and communicating one's uniqueness.Emotional articulation is associated with honesty am ong American s - quieting feelings inside is seen as being deceptive. In any case, In Japanese culture, feelings reflect connections, not simply inward states. Consequently, in contrast to American culture, the outflow of feelings is regularly disheartened - enthusiastic concealment assists Japanese with bettering fit in with the emotions of the group. There's another social factor why we upregulate feelings: financial inequality. The ascent of helicopter child rearing isn't simply determined by the requirement for control, yet by monetary apprehensions. As indicated by research by Matthias Doepke, guardians stress their youngsters presently have less chances to succeed - they need to effectively help their kids succeed. The creator clarifies how Americans feel the strain to enable their children to prevail in an 'out of line society' By empowering difficult work and feeling control. Swedes, then again, will in general be increasingly loose and give their youngsters progressively passi onate opportunity in light of the fact that they live in a progressively equivalent society. The Art of Emotional RegulationSex is consistently about feelings. Great sex is about free feelings; terrible sex is about blocked feelings. ? Deepak ChopraOur common enthusiastic state can foresee long haul wellbeing and life expectancy.Upregulating positive feelings and downregulating negative ones isn't the best way to oversee feelings. A few people will in general down-control constructive feelings instead. The study Grabbing rout from the jaws of triumph indicated how, while encountering constructive feelings, individuals low in confidence become restless and hose their constructive feelings - they center more around progress' antagonistic aspects. At some point, we as a whole may downregulate constructive feelings in specific circumstances. For instance, while cooperating with an outsider or when managing awkward social circumstances. Yet, that is only a modification, not at all like the individuals will low confidence that downregulates paying little mind to the context. There are three key sorts of passionate regulation.Emotional suppression means that we despite everything experience the feeling, yet hinder its social articulations. It makes an asymmetry between how you feel and what others see.Suppression, as I examined previously, makes a mutilation. It causes us to feel less positive feelings and more negative feelings - concealment diminishes life fulfillment and self-esteem.Emotional acceptance is seeing our sentiments - tolerating, naming, and understanding our feelings, yet choosing to fail to address them. We acknowledge our sentiments without battling or making a decision about them. Tolerating our feelings, not getting some distance from them, is one of the center act of mindfulness.Emotional Reappraisal is intellectual in nature - it includes how you consider your enthusiastic state and aides reframe it. Since you can change the entire feeling, it's nor mally connected with lower levels of sadness and more noteworthy well-being.This system includes changing the trajectory of an enthusiastic reaction - we rework its meaning. The Power of Cognitive ReappraisalA man is nevertheless the result of his considerations; what he thinks, he becomes.' - Mahatma GandhiConfronting our feelings - and appearing well and good out of them - makes it simpler to address what triggers our passionate reaction and avoid mindless reactions.Cognitive reappraisal includes perceiving the negative example your musings make. 4 Ways to Remove Generation Bias in the Workplace - Workology
4 Ways to Remove Generation Bias in the Workplace - Workology As more Millennials enter the workforce and more Baby Boomers try to hold on to their jobs, age discrimination continues to be a problem. Generation bias occurs at both ends of the spectrum. Both employees in their 20s and employees in their 50s (and older) are discriminated against because of their age for a variety of reasons. Iâll never forget the moment in my career when I was a victim of age discrimination because I was too young. I was working at a public relations agency and was going above and beyond for one of my clients. However, as soon as the client discovered my young age, I was removed immediately from the account and my boss didnât think twice about the decision. Generation bias stems from age discrimination and is a serious problem. By now, most generations have received a variety of stereotypes because of misconceptions about their behaviors, work ethic, and habits. Some employers may view their Millennial employees as lazy or selfish. On the flip side, many employers view this young generation as a huge asset because of their innovation and tech-savviness. Baby Boomers also carry some stereotypes in todays workplace. Since Millennials are entering managerial roles at work, theres often a clash between the two generations. Baby Boomers are sometimes viewed to be old school or stuck in their ways. However, Baby Boomers have just as much experience, skill, and talent to offer as the Millennial generation. In fact, many employers have a more positive perspective toward older employees, too. 4 Ways to Remove Generation Bias in the Workplace To create an inclusive workplace, employers need to commit to removing generation bias. Millennials and Baby Boomers both have their strengths and weaknesses, yet these factors shouldnt serve as a basis for discrimination in the workplace. If youre an employer who hires both Millennials and Baby Boomers, here are some tips for removing generation bias in the workplace: .ai-rotate {position: relative;} .ai-rotate-hidden {visibility: hidden;} .ai-rotate-hidden-2 {position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;} .ai-list-data, .ai-ip-data, .ai-fallback, .ai-list-block {visibility: hidden; position: absolute; width: 50%; height: 1px; z-index: -9999;} Remove your expectations. Think of every stereotype youve heard about each generation. Now forget about them. These stereotypes are toxic in the workplace and they prevent employers from creating an inclusive culture. The expectations society has created for different generations prevents employers from managing their employees fairly. For example, a manager may favor an older employee because they feel he or she is more mature and loyal. On the other hand, a manager could choose to hire a younger candidate over an older candidate because the younger individual has potential to stay with the employer longer. If youre working with Millennials and Baby Boomers, you must forget about what youve heard about their generations. Every employee, regardless of their age, is a unique individual and has something offer. You have to be willing to have an open mind and treat every employee with the same respect and attitude. .ai-rotate {position: relative;} .ai-rotate-hidden {visibility: hidden;} .ai-rotate-hidden-2 {position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;} .ai-list-data, .ai-ip-data, .ai-fallback, .ai-list-block {visibility: hidden; position: absolute; width: 50%; height: 1px; z-index: -9999;} Focus on results. Its tempting to base an employees value on their solely on their length of time with your company or their ability to develop new skills. However, when youre looking at Millennials and Baby Boomers, they both have a wide variety of skills on different ends of the spectrum regardless of how fresh or old their skills are. If you really want to gauge your employees value and success, focus on the results they bring to the table. Your best employees will help your company accomplish its goals and be a positive contribution to the workplace. Measuring results through success can help you find out if an employee is struggling to create results. This gives you the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with him or her to help overcome the challenge. Sometimes employees (regardless of their age) need specific training or an opportunity to develop new skills. Remember, your employees have different interests. This applies across the board to all of your employees. When managing different generations in the workplace, youâll need to remember that your employees will often be at different stages in their careers. For example, a younger employee will likely be concerned about launching their career, whereas an older employee will be focused on preparing for retirement. Itâs important to keep your employeesâ goals in mind when managing different generations because it will impact the opportunities you can provide for them. Keep every employee engaged. Now, this might take some extra work on your part, but it will definitely pay off in the long run. Employee engagement is a problem employers face every day. With 70 percent of U.S. workers not being engaged at work, itâs important to be aware of factors that could increase this disengagement. Age discrimination often creates a barrier between employers and employee engagement. For example, companies who focus on Millennial development end up alienating older workers. This would cause older employees to become disengaged at work and even leave to find a new opportunity. As an employer, it should be your goal to develop an employment engagement strategy that prevents age discrimination. Engage every employee by giving them the equal opportunity for growth, development, and recognition. This will help you create a positive work environment thatâs inclusive of all generations. Each generation is unique and has something to offer. Removing generation bias from the workplace means being able to look at your employees as individuals and not as specific generations. Age discrimination is real and it can have a negative impact in the workplace. The last thing you want is to lose a valuable employee because of a decision you made based upon age. Do you think age discrimination is a problem in the workplace? How do you think employers can remove generation bias at work?

Prahalad and Gary Hamel in their 1990 article for Harvard Business Review. The authors define core competencies as a unique set of skills and resources that a company is able to utilize more effectively and efficiently than its market competitors. In a nutshell, core competencies are what makes a company stand out from the crowd.ButIts not enough to know the definition of core competencies. To be successful, a company must be able to pinpoint what its core competencies are.In their article, Prahalad and Hamel name three tests that can help companies identify their core competencies:A core competence should give the company access to many markets, not just one.A core competence should add value to the companys end product or service.A core competence must not be easy for competition to replicate. The question isCan a company have more than one core competence?Absolutely. In fact, the core should consist of several different competencies whose unique combination results in a truly synergistic effect thats very hard for copycats to imitate.NowThe concept of core competencies may have started as a management theory that only applied to businesses and organizations butIt made its way into other dimensions as well:The phrase core competencies is often used by job seekers. In the context of a resume, these refer to a candidate's key abi lities and are used synonymously with professional skills. In the next section, youll see examples of company core competencies. If you want to find out how to put core competencies on a resume, go to section three.Dont know how to organize your resume, or where to put the information on your core competencies? Read our guide: What Should a Resume Look Like in 2019? Best Examples 20+ Tips2How Companies Build Core CompetenciesExamplesHeres the thing:The world has changed a lot since core competencies were introduced. And, truth be told, a lot feels like an understatement. In factWere living in a completely different reality.Business models we now consider part and parcel of our everyday lives were the stuff of science-fiction back in the 1990s.Does this mean the concept of core competencies is out of date? That it no longer applies to todays volatile business reality?Nope.Heres a look at the examples of core competencies in three modern-day companies recognizable worldwide.Amazon Core CompetenciesJeff Bezos founded Amazon with a vision to create the earth's most customer-centric company, and he succeeded. How?By offering the customers extra value through the companys impressive distribution infrastructure, organization of logistics, and commitment to the highest standards of service. But thats not everythingAmazons business model is much more complex. The brand has established high global equity and market capitalization, as well as created an international network of affiliates to expand its market reach.PlusThe companys most crucial core competence is its flexibility in reconfiguring and reapplying resources, as well as a strong culture of innovation that led to developing its artificial intelligence capabilities. This unique mixture of core competencies gives Amazon a huge competitive advantage.Tesla Core CompetenciesTeslas mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.Such an ambitious mission proposes huge value to the entire humanity.I n fact, the company aspires to contribute to eliminating some of the biggest challenges of the modern world, such as climate change or reliance on fossil fuels.Tesla wants to achieve this by being a highly innovative technology company and a visionary car maker.Teslas core competencies consist of cutting-edge manufacturing processes, state-of-the-art electric powertrains, battery packs, and self-driving technology, all of which are extremely difficult to imitate by competitors.PlusThe companys organization and leadership encourage innovation, so Tesla has been taking advantage of other opportunities in the energy sector. Thanks to an inimitable set of core competencies, Tesla left the other automakers far behind in terms of the quality and user experience offered by its vehicles.Apple Core CompetenciesApple has built its strong position by constant questioning and effectively changing the status quo of technology over the past several decades.Lets just mention that its largely thanks to Apple that computers arent just business machines, that we have smartphones, and that music is distributed in a digital form. But how does Apple set itself apart from the competition? Here are Apples core competencies:For one thing, it managed to establish itself as a widely recognizable premium brand. In addition, it built an ecosystem of complementary products and services, as well as designed and set up its systems with rapid innovation in mind. Not to mention it has access to a constant flow of information about its users that helps the company plan and carry out its business strategy. All these core competencies give Apple a huge advantage and are hard (if not impossible) to imitate.NowThe question you might want to ask is:How are core competencies reflected in day-to-day operations of a company?Core competencies affect companies and organizations on multiple levels, but theyre most visible in human resource management. In essence, a company or an organization that wants to take full advantage of its core competencies looks for people who are aligned with its vision and mode of work. Simple as that.Organizations that heavily rely on public trust make no secret of what kind of core competencies they nurture and expect of its employees. For example, the FBI defines its core competencies as the categories of skills, abilities, and knowledge that all employees are expected to cultivate and use in their work. Here's a list of FBI core competencies:CollaborationCommunicationFlexibility and adaptabilityInitiativeInterpersonal skillsLeadership skillsOrganizational skillsProblem-solving skillsWith a clearly defined set of core competencies, the FBI recruiters know exactly what to look for in candidates as these exact traits make it possible for the organization to function in the most efficient and effective way.Pro Tip: Looking for a job with a federal agency? Old Journals Keep or Toss
Old Journals Keep or Toss Every season I get the urge to sort through my things, rearrange furniture around the house, and refresh my inventory. Following this exercise, I feel a sense of excitement, which is consistent with holistic physician Isaac Eliazâs, MD, MS, LAc belief âthat the overall energy efficiency and clarity created by good organization truly leads to increased longevity and better health.â You can read his HuffPo guest blog more about why Organization Boosts Health and Vitality here. What about your old journals? Why do you still have them? And do you still need them? Keep healthy mantras Flipping through my SMASH journal from 2012, I wondered if it was helpful or necessary to hang on to the stories from my past. As I re-read where I had copied the 12 symptoms of inner peace, I knew this was something I wanted to hang on to. I cut it out of the book. Toss your past when it does not offer value for where you are today Next came anecdotes about what recipes I made for book club, various dating tales (which ultimately led to a previous post, why you are attracting people who are wrong for you), and exercise and nutrition chronicles. While amusing and evoking feelings of âwow, I canât believe how much I have grown since thenâ, I did not feel these entries did anything else to propel me forward. I kept flipping through. Keep famous quotes What about relationship advice from others? Many of the things people told me during this post-breakup phase resonated. I had jotted them down for reference should I need inspirational reminders. Now I look at them and feel that I could offer these encouragements to others going through a similar phase. A few examples: âPeople will think whatever they want. You canât control it. You just have to be OK with whatever happened.â â" A former boss, over margaritas âForgive yourself. The relationship that took two people failed. Not You.â â" an article on the Internet â" maybe it was this one. âLove yourself. Shine Outward. Listen to your gut.â â" Mom, during a phone convo âWhat I think matters just as much as what others thinkâ â" Me, working through my people-pleasing tendencies. Keep your values My core values in 2012 are consistent with my values in 2016. I tore out the page that honored family, honesty, work ethic, organization, fun, and a healthy lifestyle. Keep your vision of your ideal partner (and a sense of humor) What are the 10 traits your soulmate should have? Back on 12/18/2012 (I date all of my entries, like what am I handing this in to a teacher?) underneath the list of values including family and trust, past the lifestyle and geographic descriptions, there in the lower right hand corner of the page was this: Loves football Crazy about me Basically Daniel Craig* * I did write this, but I was mostly kidding slash alluding to his character traits of being smart, humble, having charisma, etc. Do you keep all of your old musings? Have you found any hidden gems that you preserve? Lmk in the comments or @kellymc247 Columnist Archive

Deciding How to Attract Readers, Followers, Brand Champions - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
Deciding How to Attract Readers, Followers, Brand Champions - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Should you give content away for free to attract readers, followers, and brand champions? Or, should you require form-based registration before allowing marketing content to be downloaded? Every author and entrepreneur must choose a content marketing strategy to attract readers, followers, and build personal brand champions. Choosing between free and registration-based content distribution is a decision you cannot avoid. Last week, best-selling marketing and social media expert David Meerman Scott posted an extremely important blog post, DEBATE: Totally free content vs. requiring registration that provides a valuable perspective on the issue. Should you goal be to distribute your content as far and wide as possible, or should you focus on generating qualified leads for your business? Making the right decision David Meerman Scott has long been associated with free content distribution and quantifiable successes based on huge following his free content has created. In an interview with David last year, he provided a detailed case study of marketing reciprocity at work and how it helped him launch a worldwide best-selling business book over a single weekend. But, there are two sides to every question, and to help others make the right decision, David debated the issue with Mike Volpe, Vice President of Marketing from HubSpot, and made the results available in two formats: Video. You can immediately watch the video of David Meerman Scott and Mike Volpe debating the pros and cons of free versus registration-required content. Ebook. You can freely download the transcript of their debate which concisely presents both sides of the issue in a format that you can read and refer to online or print out for later off-line reading and underlining. My lessons takeaways My major takeaways from David and Mikes debate include: Specifics. Their debate was based on fact, not opinion. Both David and Mike bolstered their position with detailed metrics based on their case studies and experiences. Guidance, not doctrine. Instead of prescribing a universal solution, David and Mike provide enough guidance to make an informed decision based on your particular goals and objectives. Editing. Many transcripts are difficult to read because they are lightly edited, meaning there are long paragraphs that frequently contain distracting digressions and irrelevant comments. In this case, however, each partners responses are stated in 2 or 3 sentences, rarely exceeding 5 lines of text. Design. The ebook is easy to read, because of its clean, simple, design, landscape format, and short, easy-to-read, line length. The head shots of the participants as they addressed each topic also project the engaged and friendly image youll find in the video. Most important of all, the ebook provides an appropriate next-step for applying its ideas and invites ongoing dialog and comment. What are your takeaways and issues? Which content marketing alternative have you chosen? Is it time to for you revisit the question? What are the issues that are most important for you? What did you learn from David Mikes debate? Is free content distribution best for you, or should you require registration before blog or website visitors can access your videos or download your ebooks, reports, and white papers? Share your observations, below, as comments. Author: Roger C. Parkers blog offers weekday writing tips and help choosing article and book titles for personal branding success.
